Every December, BVS Charity volunteers will wrap and pack over 250 food hampers and bags of presents, that are then delivered to local schools. The hampers and presents are fully donated, packed, and distributed by the charity and help those families who would struggle to provide gifts for their children at Christmas.
The cost-of-living crisis has had an impact on many families. As a result, we are doing what we can to help by distributing food to the homeless, delivering food parcels to those in need, giving shopping vouchers to those in need and providing hot meals served on-site. We don’t want anyone missing out because of the cost of living, so we are here to help.
A global priority and something that we take very seriously. We find that small projects are just as effective and impactful as large projects. BVS Charity hosts free personal training sessions, first aid training, meditation classes, and Diabetes and Alzheimer’s workshops, free female hygiene products and distribution, breast cancer screening & COVID Vaccinations drop-ins.
Crime is always present in our communities. Vulnerable people are targeted for their money, property and sexual violence. We have supported countless people who have been the victims of crime. We believe that protecting our most vulnerable is a priority. By hosting crime prevention talks and workshops helps to spread awareness not only to the vulnerable, but also to their families who can support with suggestions to put in place.
Our crime prevention workshops take place in schools, colleges, with our partner charities and at BVS site.
If you would like more information about hosting a crime prevention talk or workshop in your community, school or workplace, please us the contact us page and send a message.
Punjab is the birthplace of Baba Ji, and unfortunately is riddled with alcohol abuse, political turmoil, high levels of drug abuse, and sexual violence. BVS Charity hosts an annual community event, lasting approximately a week. During the event, volunteers from all over the world descend on the town of “Nawanshahr”, Punjab, to help those in need.
The free event aims to help those with addictions and poor health. Poverty in the area means that local people cannot access any form of healthcare. BVS Charity organises local doctors to attend and offer free diabetes checks, dental, eye check-ups, general medical advice, and treatment.
The event is attended by approximately 100,000 people throughout the week and is often the highlight of the local calendar for many people.
Father’s Day every year, BVS Charity hosts a free community fun fair. The purpose is to give families a fun day out together, helping those who may not be able to afford leisure time with their children, the chance to spend quality time together, at no cost. Rides, food, drinks, henna hand tattoos, face painting, arts and crafts, and ice cream, all for free.
There is nothing that requires any payment. The fair attracts thousands of people and is delivered with the help of our local community partners and emergency services.
There are photos of the community day in the gallery below, we hope that you will attend with your family for the next one, it really is a great family day and we have so many wonderful comments from our community and volunteers.
We are keen to work with other partners and other agencies to achieve our common goal.
